28 Triton Pros Head West
Ashland City, TN (3-28-03) The first six B.A.S.S. Tour events are complete
and 100 of the original 175 professional bass anglers are one step closer to
the super bowl of bass fishing the BASS Masters Classic. And nearly 30%
(28) of the remaining field are Triton-sponsored anglers. The Tour now
heads West for two stops at the California Delta (April 3-6) and Clearlake
(April 10-13). Here the stakes will be really high, as the field will be
narrowed to 50, before coming back East for two final events. In all 40
professional anglers will qualify from the Tour to fish the 2003 BASS
Masters Classic, so these final four events will be exciting to watch.
In the 2003 B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year race, Triton pro Shaw Grigsby finds
himself in fourth place nipping at the heals of the three above him. If
Shaw can pull it off that will make back-to-back Triton Angler of the Year
winners...Davy Hite won the 2002 award.
The 28 Triton pros heading to the California to continue their pursuit of a
birth in the BASS Masters Classic are as follows:
