3/4/2017 I've done A LOT of research on all of the aluminum series bass boats and it comes down to the Triton 17TX and Ranger RT178...which are pretty much the same boat, except the Ranger having a few nicer upgrades. It's not fair to compare an aluminum bass boat to a fiberglass bass boat...the worst fiberglass will ride better than the best aluminum boat on a choppy lake. That being said, you CAN NOT beat the price of a Triton aluminum series boat!!! It has everything a $60,000 fiberglass boat has, rigged out for about $25,000!!! I've owned Ranger and Triton aluminum series boats since 2002 and they both held up amazing well for 15 years with very little maintenance. I looked at G3, Lowe and Crestliner boats...with quickly ruling out G3 and Lowe...while Crestliner held it's own. I recommend you pay the extra $3-$5 thousand dollars on a Triton/Ranger...it's well worth it.
